TagSpaces is a free file tagging and management utility which helps keep track of and search for files organized in to individual projects.
The main function of the program is to index and search for files in certain directories. You can use it to setup indexes for individual projects. As the name suggests, it works best with tags or keywords assigned to files.
To get started with TagSpaces, you just specify a project name and select a folder where the data is located. TagSpaces will then organize the data and allow you to tag them. It can also quickly rename or delete files.
The tagging system of TagSpaces is pretty interesting; it can prioritize files, add deadlines and view folders and files in different modes.
The program includes a lovely interface which can be described as minimalist. Files inside of projects include the file name, file type and user-created tags. Adding tags to files is completed through right-clicking the file and selecting "Add Tags".
The built-in media viewer supports different types of files including images, videos, audio, PDF documents and HTML.
Overall, TagSpaces is a well thought-out organizer which helps keep on top of upcoming projects and deadlines or just to keep a collection of documents or other media organized.
